皆さん、長谷川です。英語の会からメールを受信しておられる方には、間もなくお送りするニュースレターでお知らせしますが、本日（５月２６日）から６月７日（日）まで、リスニング学習会（第３回）を開催します。（今回から名称をリスニング大会からリスニング学習会に変更しました）
今回は、アメリカの３つの有名な国立公園であるグランドキャニオン、ナイアガラ、イエローストーンを英語のビデオで訪ねます。
アメリカ国内の人気の観光スポットをカウントダウン形式で２５箇所紹介している２８分余りのビデオ

のなかの次の３箇所を一緒に見ましょう。
No.14 Niagara Falls (12:41-13:49)
No.5 Yellowstone (22:57-24:07)
No.2 Grand Canyon (26:21-27:23)
課題は、この３つの観光スポットのなかから１つ（以上）を選んで、ビデオの説明も参考にして、自分で観光案内を書いてみようというものです。
動画にある説明のサマリーでも構いませんし、ご自分で情報を加えていただいても結構です。またお書きいただく文章は、英語、日本語どちらでも構いません。
なお、この「25 Best Places to Visit in the USA - Travel Video」というYouTubeのビデオでは英語の字幕を表示することもできますので、よろしければ字幕も参考になさってください。
皆さんの回答はこの記事の後に投稿してください。

英語リスニング学習会（第３回）は６月７日（日）に無事終了しました。
アメリカの観光地を紹介するビデオでしたので、straddleやgushなど普段聞きなれない言葉がいろいろ出て来ましたが、英語で旅行案内を読むときに必要なボキャブラリーを身につけることができたのではないかと思います。
MEさんは、いつも通りの正確に聞き取ったレポートを投稿してくださいました。YYさんは、イエローストーンの観光地の名前に使われている形容詞について、それが用いられている理由を分かりやすく説明してくださいました。またFYさんからは、ナイアガラのホースシュー滝の幅が地元の２つの駅の間の距離に匹敵するという独創的なご指摘をいただきました。
皆さん、素晴らしいレポートをありがとうございました。お三方には課題のトランスクリプトとその解説を載せたファイルを間もなくお送りします。

I write 2 tourist spots in the USA.
No.14 Niagara falls
Niagara falls straddle Ontario in and the American state of New York.
This falls on a massive scale.
Water source is 5 great lakes. Made up 3 falls...Horseshoe Falls,the American Falls and the Bridal Veil Falls.
Horseshoe Falls are largest.this fall width 675m.
for example from about Rokkomichi St. to Hankyu Rokko St of distance.wow!
Water flows are explosive.
Do deserved Japanese "瀑布". Bakufu means grandest waterfall.
No.5 Yellowstone
Yellowstone is first national park in the world.
There are numerous geyers.
Geyser is erupt does hot vapor and boiling water.
If you come near take care!
There's the multicolored grand prismatic spring by bacteria.
Please search pictorial image for Yellowstone.
You'll see very wonderful colors!
and This national park is wild animal place.
grizzly,wolf,bison,elk,and more.
I hope carefull natural beauty.

This theme is verry difficult for me.
I have never been there.I trid my imagination.
Yellowstone National Park was recognized as a national park at the first time in the world.
In the park, there are almost half of hot springs and two third geysers in the world.
One geyser, maned｢old faithful｣, is very popular for tourists. The geyser has spouted regularly for about hundred years, then people called it ｢failthful｣.
｢Grand prismatic spring｣is also famous. The center color of this spring is cobalt blue because of it's high temperature. The temperature is getting lower and lower with moving outside. Becuse bacteria multiply such place, the color change to white, yellow, orange and blown, like rainbow.
How wonderful place it is, isn't it?
No.14 Niagara Falls
The world famous Niagara Falls are a culmination of the flow of water that gushes out of the Upper Great Lake and actually made of three falls. Six million cubic feet of water cascades over the ridge every second. It's a magnificent landscape. You should see it !
I've never seen it. I'd like to go there someday...!
